Day 2 – God is Holy; Lust is sin.

Why embrace lust, knowing it won’t satisfy & you weren’t created for it, instead of embracing God, who is all good & only wants good for us (Rom 8:28)?

Psalm 139:1-6,

O Lord, you have searched me and known me! 2 You know when I sit down and when I rise up; you discern my thoughts from afar. 3 You search out my path and my lying down and are acquainted with all my ways. 4 Even before a word is on my tongue, behold, O Lord, you know it altogether. 5 You hem me in, behind and before, and lay your hand upon me. 6 Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; it is high; I cannot attain it.

Psalm 145:3 - 3 Great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised, and his greatness is unsearchable.

Isaiah 55:8-9 - 8 For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the Lord. 9 For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.

God is incomprehensible, which means that He is beyond our full understanding. He is Holy. He is other than His creation because He is the Creator. He knows Himself perfectly, but we only know Him based on what He’s decided to tell us and how He’s made us capable of understanding Him.

He has revealed Himself to us clearly in the Bible through the prophets, apostles (and their close associates), and Jesus Christ (Ps 119; 2 Tim 3:16-17). God transcends us in all of His knowledge: of Himself and creation. He knows more and better than we do about all things because His knowledge is wider and deeper than our knowledge.
