1. Why does God’s eternal nature surpass the temporary and fleeting nature of lust?
God is eternal, has no beginning, no end, no parts, no needs, and He exists in and of Himself from eternity past, now, and forever; while lust began in the serpent’s heart, will end in the Lake of Fire, and only offers fleeting pleasure that quickly fades.
2. How does God’s holiness expose the emptiness of lust?
God is beyond my full understanding and knows more and better than I do, yet He has revealed Himself to me through creation and the Bible, showing me His perfect goodness, which exposes lust as empty and unable to satisfy me.
3. How does God’s sovereign power expose the weakness of lust?
God is Creator, doing whatever He pleases, accomplishing His holy will by giving His word, and giving and taking life for His own glory; while lust has no power over me unless I permit it.
4. How does God’s complete knowledge reveal that lust leads only to destruction?
Only God knows all that has been, will be, could have been or could be, and He gave me some of His knowledge in the Bible, exactly what I need so that I will flourish; therefore, lust is and can only be the path to failure.
